Capo Teulada (Teulada Cape)
|

|
The southwestern end of Sardinia is represented by a rocky spur, which reaches its maximum height at P. de Aintru (223 m). It is entirely occupied by the military shooting range and therefore off-limits.
Its striking hinterland, bare of trees but all the same interesting thanks to vast areas of remarkable environmental integrity, borders on the sea at Porto Zafferano (to the east) and Porto Cogolidus (to the west). The latter has only pebbly beaches while, in the former, very fine, white sands and dunes, colonized by old junipers, make the landscape marvellous. The transparent waters and panorama, dominated by the powerful rocks of Capo Teulada make Porto Zafferano one of the most beautiful sea localities on the island.
Not far away, still further eastwards, the inlet of Porto Scudo too offers a beautiful beach at the end of a cove formed by the promontories of Punta della Torre and Punta de Su Portu.
The beach of Portu Tramatzu, situated further eastwards, near Porto Teulada is easily approachable: here, the panorama is characterized by the rocky Ruia island, some hundred metres off the shore.
