PRACTICAL GUIDE TO SARDINIA

Sardinia HEART OF THE MEDITERRANEAN

ROAD MAP & PILOT CHART OF SARDINIA

Close to the south of the promontory of Punt'Aldia - with its homonymous residential village, surrounded by the most important gulf course in the Province of Nuoro - it lies the wonderful La Cinta beach, the vastest and most frequented on the entire stretch of this coast. The beauty and whiteness of this solar and panoramic shore, the transparence of the very green water are qualities to be added to what, in these times, may be considered one of the most prized prerogatives for a seaside resort: the remarkable extension of La Cinta allows space and peacefulness, even in the high season. The near hinterland too is worth a walk along some small paths, among the dunes covered with bushes and stupendous junipers. It is possible to enjoy the incomparable sight of the calm pond of San Teodoro and to reach its northern part, where it connects with the sea. Here, the natural exchange of waters and fish species between fresh water and sea water takes place. The beach is actually a very long, sandy strip which forms the sheet of water, separating it from the sea. The pond is populated by an important avianfauna lives, including flamingoes, easily watchable almost all the year round.
